Musician-actor Pierre Taki busted for using cocaine

Jiji Press TOKYO (Jiji Press) — Musician and actor Pierre Taki, who plays a role in “Idaten,” this year’s “taiga” annual history drama series on public broadcaster NHK, has been arrested for allegedly using cocaine.

Taki, 51, whose real name is Masa- nori Taki, has admitted to the Narcotics Control Law violation charges, according to investigative sources.

He was arrested by the narcotics control department of the Health, Labor and Welfare Ministry’s Kanto-Shinetsu regional bureau on Tuesday on suspicion of using a small amount of cocaine in Tokyo or an area near the capital on or around Tuesday.

The department searched his family home in Tokyo’s Setagaya Ward earlier in the day.

No cocaine was found during the search, but Taki tested positive for cocaine use in a urine test later, the sources said.

Taki, a native of Shizuoka Prefecture, is a founding member of electronic music group Denki Groove, which debuted in 1989 and has toured overseas.Speech
